1. What is TaxiCard? [top]
TaxiCard is a stored-value swipe card that can be used to pay any cab, sedan, or limousine service that accepts Discover® Network cards. Your TaxiCard is prepaid, which means you can spend up to the value placed on the card. Each time you use your card, the transaction amount is automatically deducted from the balance of the card. Make sure you sign the receipt and check the amount when using your card.
2. Where can I use my TaxiCard?
You may use your
TaxiCard to pay any cab, sedan, or limousine service that accepts Discover
Network cards. The card will be declined if you attempt to use it for other purposes, including getting cash at an ATM or point-of-sale terminal. 3. What happens if my TaxiCard number gets stolen? You
can report your TaxiCard lost or stolen by calling 1-866-742-8672 or at
www.TaxiCard.com. You will need your card number so that we can cancel
your TaxiCard and issue a new one, so make sure you've kept the
information in a secure place, separate from your TaxiCard.
4. How do I activate or manage my TaxiCard? [top]
You can manage your TaxiCard at www.TaxiCard.com or call 1-866-742-8672. 5. Where can I obtain my TaxiCard? TaxiCards can be obtained at www.TaxiCard.com or by calling 1-866-499-TAXI (8294). 6. Can I get multiple TaxiCards for one account? TaxiCards can be purchased in quantity and shipped in bulk. Please visit us at www.TaxiCard.com or call 1-866-499-TAXI (8294) for more information. 7. What is the cost of a TaxiCard? The cost of a new or
replacement TaxiCard is $4.95 up to $50, $5.95 up to $100, and $6.95 up to $200. Please contact us at 1-866-499-TAXI (8294) for loads over $200.
8. Is there a minimum amount needed to obtain or
load my TaxiCard? [top]
There is a minimum value of $20 needed for a new card or to reload an existing card in addition to the new card and reload fees.
9. Where can I get the TaxiCard balance and transaction information? You can check your balance or transactions for free
at www.TaxiCard.com, or call 1-866-742-8672. The taxi or car service will
not be able to tell you the funds available on the TaxiCard, so make sure you know your balance before departing. 10. What happens if I need to make a purchase
that is more than my TaxiCard account balance? If the fare plus tip exceeds your
available balance, the purchase will be declined. If this occurs, you can
pay for part of the balance with your TaxiCard, and the remainder with cash or another form of payment.
11. How is my TaxiCard different from a credit card? [top] The TaxiCard is a prepaid card similar to a gift card. You must have value on the card in order to use it.
12. Can I get cash from the bank using my
TaxiCard? You
cannot use your TaxiCard at an ATM or point-of-sale terminal. 13. Do I have to enter my PIN to use my
TaxiCard? No you
do not need to enter a PIN to use the TaxiCard. 14. What do I do if my TaxiCard stops working? You should call 1-866-742-8672 if your card stops working.
15. Is there an age limit to use my
TaxiCard? [top] There is no age limit to use a valid TaxiCard. 16. Can I give my TaxiCard to someone else to use? You may give your TaxiCard to someone else to use but at your own risk.
17. Can I use my TaxiCard internationally? No,
the TaxiCard can only be used in the United States and Canada.
